WebJan 13, 2010 · Whenever I forget to raise my Brown sidestand, it's kicked into the closed position the first time I make a left turn. The geometry seems to allow it to just flip out of the way, rather than causing a catastrophe the way some stands could if they didn't have kill switches built into them.. 01-13-2010, 04:12 AM #7. WebNov 28, 2024 · The sidestand is not meant to be used like that. If I'm that loaded I put the bike on the center stand then use the left peg to get over my luggage. I'm 280lbs without gear and I've used the sidestand to step over the bike a few times (too uneven of ground to use the center stand) I never seen my flying tpot stand flex when fully loaded.
