Unless you are lucky enough to have the Cache Vault version of the LSI SAS 2108, or on a UPS that can last the power cut leaving data in drive cache may mean data loss.

WebbI have it set to spindown at 15 minutes but it never happens. I know nothing is accessing the disk because if I manually spin it down it stays down. Also checking the File Activity and Open Files plugins don't show up any activity. Checking the logs I don't see any invocation to the spindown script at all, only when I manually trigger it. I tried hddparm -C /dev/sdX and can confirm that the disks are ACTIVE/IDLE I even tried to manually spin down the disks but after few seconds they have turned on (an exception has been logged in the system log).
